Studio 74 is Lynbrook's drama department. We are a group of students who love theatre and are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. We produce shows, compete in festivals, and host events. We are a drama family, and we would love for you to join us!

Studio 74 puts on one school-wide production every semester, ranging from musicals to plays, directed and produced by the drama advisor and department lead, Mr. Wenner. We have a variety of roles available, from acting to tech to marketing. All levels of experience are welcome!

Studio 74's ComedySportz improv team is a major facet of our department. It is our tradition to host multiple Improv Nights every year where our team is split into two groups and compete against each other in a series of games. We also compete in the ComedySportz High School League.

Studio 74's award-winning students participate annually in festivals such as the Lenaea Theatre Festival, where they compete in various categories such as acting, costumes, makeup, and more. We have won numerous awards and medals for our excellence in theatre.

Beginning Drama

Beginning Drama

Beginning Drama gives students an introductory training in acting, with emphasis on voice, movement, improvisation, mental and script preparation, and various acting techniques. The course also includes the history of theatre and its contributions to world cultures, as well as playwriting and directing techniques.

Advanced Drama

Advanced Drama

Advanced Drama is for students who want more advanced training in acting. The course dives deeper into analyzing, performing, and evaluating dramatic works. Additionally, there is continued instruction in voice, staging, and character analysis. Students will rehearse and perform for an audience, and will also have the opportunity to participate in festivals and competitions.

Advanced Drama Honors

Advanced Drama Honors is built for those students who are most interested and practiced in studying acting and the theater. Course study will be based on the skills and knowledge developed in the previous Drama courses and will help students to continue on to more advanced levels of dramatic study. Students will be expected to have a solid foundation of dramatic principles and practices.
